Laurie Rumley, APN, RXN, PMHNP

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Laurie is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  She has been a Registered Nurse for 30 years and has worked in a variety of settings: Inpatient/Outpatient Psychiatry, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Med-Surg, Labor & Delivery, and Level II Nursery. In addition to her varied medical career, Laurie has completed a Master’s degree in Counseling and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Laurie received her Bachelor’s degrees from both Wheaton College and the University of Maryland.  She has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary, and a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 

Laurie has 20 years’ experience in counseling; 5 years in psychiatry. She interned at the Mental Health Corp of Denver (MHCD), worked as a school-based counselor, was trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), worked with children in the foster care system, and has worked with active-duty service members and their families.  She most commonly treats adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression (including postpartum), ADHD, bipolar II disorder, personality disorders, trauma, and grief & loss.

As a military spouse (now civilian DOD), Laurie has lived in New York, Arkansas, Tennessee, and most recently Germany.  She and her family are just returning to Colorado for the first time in 17 years.  While overseas, Laurie worked at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  Landstuhl is the only US military hospital in Europe, and services all military branches: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Space Force.
