Abby Ward, M.A., LPC

(She/Her)

Licensed Professional Counselor

Abby is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and she sees clients in both Colorado and Florida. She completed her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado, and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology at Western Colorado University.

Abby has experience working with both teens and adults struggling with a variety of mental health concerns. Her primary clinical focus is trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, perinatal mental health, and eating disorders. Abby uses a person-centered, attachment-based, and trauma-informed care model, integrating EMDR, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, somatic awareness, parts work, and CBT and DBT based skills. She also embraces intuitive eating principles and body neutrality for all, and works through an anti-diet, Health at Every Size lens.

Abby creates a safe and inclusive therapeutic space where clients are able to feel fully grounded and connected. She believes that healing happens in genuine relationships, and shows up as her authentic, perfectly imperfect self, so that others may do the same. Abby believes in practicing what she preaches, and strives to implement the same self-care and coping strategies in her own life that she teaches to her clients. And she trusts that given the safety to be vulnerable with an empathetic witness, humans will find a path to their own inherent wholeness, worthiness, and true wellness.

In her free time, Abby enjoys outdoor adventuring with her partner and children, coffee, reading everything she can get her hands on, spoiling her dog, and geeking out on random and ever-changing topics. She regularly forgets to give herself grace, but she’s working on that.
