Emily Olmedo, LPCC

(She/Her)

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Life is messy, and Emily certainly doesn’t expect tidiness from anyone’s story. In her work with adolescents, young adults, and adults, she sees that they often face life’s messiness through transitions, anxiety, boundary issues, depression, and other stressors. Emily specializes in helping clients process their experiences, empowering them to integrate these challenges into their daily lives in meaningful ways. She believes therapy provides a space where individuals don’t have to face life’s stresses and struggles alone. Emily is committed to walking with individuals and couples through life’s murkiness, helping them uncover their inner strengths to live more authentically.

Emily provides individual and couples counseling, utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches. While her primary framework is person-centered, she incorporates techniques from various orientations, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and strengths-based approaches, customizing each session to meet her client's unique needs.

She holds a Master’s of Education and an Educational Specialist’s degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University, along with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies from Anderson University in South Carolina. In May 2024, she became a Nationally Certified Counselor and has additional training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychological First Aid, and Motivational Interviewing. She is currently expanding her expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the Gottman method for couples counseling and is working toward certification as a Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist.

Outside of her counseling practice, Emily enjoys relaxing with a good book and spending time with her dog, Bagel. Whether in her professional or personal life, she strives to foster connection, growth, and healing in the people and spaces around her. If you think you would work well together, Emily would love to hear from you!
