Daisy Casasnovas, Psy.D.

Psychologist Candidate

Dr. Casasnovas is a registered Pre-licensed Psychologist in the State of Colorado. She received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Interamerican University, San German, Puerto Rico; a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and an APA-accredited doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. She completed a special track on couples and family therapy, and her Clinical Research Project revolved around the “Impact of Immigration Policies of Parent-Child Separation on Attachment Experiences.” 

Dr. Casasnovas completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship at the Centerstone Consortium, working with severe mental illness and substance misuse. Her APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship was completed at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, Addictions and Substance Abuse Program, providing supportive and non-judgmental care. In 2009, she completed the Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health from the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts. In 2014, she received training and certification in the ten core competencies of trauma, PTSD, grief, and loss.

With a passion to support individuals in conquering different mental health challenges she has extensive experience treating substance misuse, concurrent disorders, and severe mental illness conditions that comprise anxiety, depressive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, dysfunctional interpersonal patterns, couple and marital difficulties, developmental life changes, identity growth, and cultural acculturation, among others. 

Endorsing a robust, holistic approach to address all individuals’ needs as unique and special, her style is one of a humanistic, psychodynamic, person-centered, behavioral, and cognitive-behavioral approach, tailored to the client’s needs and preferences. She mainly enjoys teaching mindfulness, self-awareness, and emotional self-regulation. 

Dr. Casasnovas enjoys laughing, yoga, reading, spending family time, listening to music, and building blocks. Dr. Casasnovas believes that everyone can change and grow.
