Brenda Baldry, M.Ed., LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Brenda recently retired from Academy School District 20 after 14 years of experience in counseling elementary-aged children. She has dealt with a myriad of issues; divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, suicide/threat assessment, PTSD, RAD, Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, Conflict Resolution, Restorative Justice, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse (just to mention a few). Before D-20, she had 10 years experience in the Cheyenne Mountain and Weld County school districts as a middle/high school counselor. What has fueled this longevity of 24 years in the counseling arena is her passion for the next generation. She has a Master’s in Education from Colorado State University (1986) and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado since 1995. She has logged over 64 credits in counseling and education methodologies in addition to her M.ED.
Brenda grew up on the plains in Southeastern Colorado and is a native of this great state. She raised three boys in the Black Forest. Besides having the gift to connect instantly with youth, ages 5-21, she shares compassion and empathy for parents of the 21 st century. She is creative in blending eclectic counseling techniques with a strong emphasis using Cognitive-based models. Her undergrad training as an educator provides a rich foundation for integrating mini-lessons and hands-on activities in the counseling session. Kids spend 12-20 years, 180 days a year, 7.5 hours a day in school. Her extensive knowledge, experience and connections from within the educational system will support your child to thrive both in and outside the schoolhouse doors.
When she is not at work, you will find her in the garden or at her son’s baseball practice, scrimmage or tournament. She is now consumed with wanderlust; a strong desire to travel and is often googling her next adventure to anywhere….
