Emma Blair, M.A., LAC, ATR-BC
(She/Her)
Licensed Addictions Counselor & Board Certified Art Therapist
Emma is a board-certified art therapist and licensed addiction counselor dedicated to helping teens, young adults, and individuals navigating complex mental health and substance use concerns. She has a particular interest in working with teens and young adults, as well as individuals with personality disorders and related challenges with relationships, identity, emotional regulation, and coping.
Emma earned her Masters in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling through Long Island University. Her clinical experience spans a variety of levels of care, including inpatient, outpatient IOP/PHP programs and residential treatment settings. Working across these environments has given her the experience of supporting individuals through acute mental health challenges, substance use and recovery, trauma, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and other complex clinical concerns.
Emma's therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed care, integrating DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and Art Therapy. She tailors treatment to each individual, recognizing that there is no single approach to healing. Together, we identify meaningful goals, build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, explore patterns and behaviors, and work toward sustainable change. She believes her role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and respect as you work toward healing and change.
As an art therapist, she also recognizes that healing does not always happen through words alone. Creative expression can provide another pathway for exploring emotions, processing difficult experiences, developing insight, and connecting with parts of ourselves that may be difficult to express verbally. No artistic experience or skill is required—art therapy is about the process, not the product.
