Dr. Petrie is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Colorado. She received a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and an APA-accredited doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
Specializing in young adult development, Dr. Petrie helps clients with stress and anxiety management, career development and exploration, academic struggles, relationship concerns, and identity development. As a first-generation college graduate, she is passionate about helping others achieve their educational and career goals.
Dr. Petrie's approach is person-centered, emotion-focused, and pragmatic. She particularly enjoys teaching clients how to take a self-compassionate approach to their lives. Dr. Petrie is also interested in working with clients who have experienced childhood emotional neglect and want to explore family-of-origin concerns. Her work is trauma-informed, and she is currently training to add somatic approaches to treatment.
Dr. Petrie enjoys hiking, traveling, photography, cooking, and reading. She is currently challenging herself by learning to paint.
